This mix by phoenix flaunts her passion for DJing as something that is rooted in hypnotic techno and the sibling genres of hardgroove, psytrance and DnB. phoenix is known for mixing with a gradual BPM and energy increase, something which will keep you hooked into this mix as it takes you on a subtle journey from 135BPM to 175BPM. Evident through the extensive set list, phoenix focuses on continual layering to produce seamless transitions and an engaging use of FX, which turn the mashups into new songs and genres. Something which is exhibited in the second half of this mix is her exploratory push towards unique genre blends, especially indie-pop combined with the driving techno, psytrance and DnB songs.
Currently focusing on radio mixes and organising events through her @transactions__ initiative, phoenix has a heart for curation and meticulous planning, something which she hopes will uplift other artists in the community and enter unexplored territories of open-format DJing.
