Play returns to its inaugural stomping ground, Solace, on April 9th for a night built around movement and rhythm.

Upstairs, the club room hosts a trio of selectors pushing hypnotic, rolling techno through the Funktion-One Evo 2 system. Lock in and enjoy the best dancefloor in Naarm.

Downstairs, we join Solace Radio for house bangers, warm groove and $15 espresso martinis. What's not to love?!

Marco Liuzzi's sets and production deliver hypnotic, groove-driven techno shaped by tension, texture, and control. His sets unfold as deep, evolving journeys. Layered, unpredictable, and designed to disorient and pull dancers deeper into the moment.

With a strong respect for techno's roots, his sound is built through long form storytelling and multi layered mixing. Whether across festivals like A3, club rooms like Sub Club or Revolver, or extended all-night-long sessions, each set remains focused on creating something immersive, raw, and impossible to replicate.

Elle is a rising force in Naarm's techno circuit, with her raw, stripped back sound deeply embedded within the realm of hypnotic techno.

There's a reason she's been chosen to support the likes of renowned internationals Fadi Mohem, Adiel, Marrøn and Setaoc Mass. Her precise selection & shapeless transitions tell compelling stories, captivating bodies and grasping minds with subtle threads of tension, submerged in hypnotic soundscapes. Elle has performed at leading Naarm venues such as Solace, Sub Club, Xe, New Guernica and many local DIY warehouses.

Above all else, Elle's dedication to nurturing the local scene is pure & selfless, she is unrelenting in her efforts to uplift the techno culture she lives and loves.

Ari - Returning to the booth for his second appearance at Play. As the founder of Play, Ari's no stranger to a dance floor. Having opened for notable Melbourne heavyweights such as Connor Wall and Ed Kent, he's continued to sharpen his instinct for building tension, energy and flow.

Rooted in hypnotic basslines, tribal percussion and the occasional house-leaning curveball, Ari oscillates between genres, warming the room and setting the tone for the night ahead.

JD - Introduced to mixing in 2014, JD spent her formative years honing her craft in Perth, as both a means of expression and escape. Now based in Naarm, she's renewed her commitment to collecting wax, focusing on digging with intention.

Rooted in jungle, trance and electro, her sound is shaped by a deep loyalty to the timeless releases of the 90s and 00s. Expect a set threaded with luscious deep and dubby textures, progressive synth work, tribal-tinged bongos, and the occasional sexy electro weapons, delivered with a steady hand and a love for storytelling.

Filou - Returning for his second Play appearance at Solace, this time the Berlin-raised selector steps into the Solace Radio booth for a 120-minute session of house.

Filou's approach is nuanced and detail-driven, shaped by years of experience. His selections balance precision, warmth and groove in equal measure.

Marley Kuran - Melbourne DJ Marley Kuran is known for her groove-driven, seamless transitions and contagious stage energy approach to house.

Across recent years, she has become a rising presence in Melbourne's nightlife, playing at venues including ATET, Glamorama, Nerve, Stamina and festival spaces such as Beyond The Valley.

Supporting artists such as Kumi, JÄMO and Yes Boone, Marley continues to build a sound and identity that resonate across dancefloors.
